Her keen eye for detail and obsessive meticulous pursuit for perfection, has lead to a new way of designing timepieces, where craftsmanship meets style and brand’s story & history.

Marie creates for the luxury watch brands with the epitome of nearly 13 years of design experience.

Path

Marie was only a child when she first experienced the world of art. It was thanks to the master of wood marquetry, her father Jérôme Boutteçon, globally recognized for his craftsmanship. It’s evident that her creative family plays a big part in her life and work. Through observing fabulous pieces of Cartier, Jaeger-Lecoultre, and Patek Philippe her father was creating, watchmaking became a natural interest early in her life. Watchmaking allowed Marie to delve into the creative design of various houses, other different artistic careers, and the infinite possibilities of creativity.

After finishing a Bachelor’s degree, she obtained a Master’s degree in Fashion, Accessories, and Luxury Goods where she discovered her deep passion for style. She experienced fashion in Paris and developed her vision of the luxury world.

During this period, Marie never forgot her long-lasting interest in horology and the beauty of craftsmanship. Parmigiani Fleurier offered her the chance to move to Switzerland to design exclusive watches. Creating collection pieces, she took the opportunity to draw the unique, complicated bespoke timepieces for clients who wanted something extra to add to their private collections. During these years she developed a true vision for bespoke luxury creations.

An increasing passion for feminine watch pieces pushed Marie to create her eponym brand, an ultra-feminine collection based on clever and easily interchangeable bezels with a very creative approach of design. Her watches narrate the life story while always displaying happiness, beauty, and the poetry of fine jewelry and watchmaking design. The Marie Boutteçon Watches have been built as a space for imagination.

In 2025, she is honored to be member of the committee of experts for the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives.
